Mimers Plads nominated for Byens Bedste Byrum 2023

We are excited to be nominated for Byens Bedste Byrum 2023!

Every year, Berlingske goes on a search to uncover the most extraordinary experiences, culinary delights, and cultural gems that Copenhagen has to offer. This time around, Mimers Plads, Copenhagen’s new public square next to Nørrebro Station, has been nominated. Berlingske says the following:

“There wasn't that much money for the project and at the same time it had to be sustainable. Both of these challenges led the architects to look for materials at the City of Copenhagen’s store of materials for reuse, and this "tingfinder” approach (you’ll have to read Pippi Longstocking to understand this, red.) has resulted in a fun space. The materials are old cobblestones, old curbstones, old flagstones and Copenhagen benches.

The curbstones are laid perpendicular to the square's edge – like piano keys slightly offset from each other. It gives a fine, distinctive and deliciously tactile impression, which lifts the entire space above the banal.”

Such a pleasure to see the landscape grow and blossom and that the square is becoming a vibrant and active part of the city!
