Living Places Copenhagen has been awarded by the Danish design magazine BO BEDRE in the innovation category.
In collaboration with VELUX Group, Artelia Denmark and Enemærke & Petersen, our aim was to build homes with a very low carbon footprint and a first-class indoor climate, but just as importantly, homes that create a good framework for life and connect people with nature through light, air, materials and plants and through the home's direct contact with both sky and earth.
The jury said the following, “this project puts itself in the catapult seat to show what the future could look like. It is a project that shows how to build with a low CO2 footprint and at the same time a focus on health. It is a place that showcases houses with smart home technology, certified wood and, for example, insulation from wood fiber granules. With colors developed by Margrethe Odgaard that give the illusion of nature, and the use of sustainable paint plus the distinct use of non-toxic plywood, this important exhibition has involved many talented forward-thinking companies (…). All in all, it is commendable to see them investing so massively in research work within health, indoor climate, light and sustainability, and to show a willingness to want to change and improve the world we live in. This is innovation on so many levels.”
