At the recent AIA International Convention, Living Places Copenhagen was honored with two awards for its innovative approach to sustainable architecture. The Sustainability Future Award and the Merit Award for Architecture 2023 were both presented to the project during the convention held in Mexico City by The American Institute of Architects (AIA). These awards honors projects that combine design excellence with sustainable design principles.
We are very happy and grateful and extend a big thank you to AIA International and the juror for recognizing Living Places Copenhagen. The project demonstrates how we can develop low-carbon, healthy and socially oriented communities by adapting existing solutions and technology to new problems.
Sinus Lynge, co-founder and creative director at EFFEKT emphasizes, “We hope the project will pave the way for the green transition of the building industry and have already experienced significant interest in Denmark. It is fantastic that the project is also gaining international attention, because the solutions were designed to be implemented and scaled – also at a global level to the benefit of people and the planet. Thank you to the VELUX Group, Artelia, and Enemærke & Petersen for an extraordinary partnership and for the courage and willingness to lead the way.”
