EFFEKT´s COO Mikkel Bøgh will be in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Oct. 4-6 to join the public symposium on timber architecture co-hosted by The University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design and the U.S. Forest Service.
Named “Timber! Design Excellence in timber and wood”, the three-day summit will bring together an international cohort of architects and engineers whose work specifically in wood demonstrates excellence in design and innovation.
The international line-up of speakers includes: Aaron Dorf (Snøhetta, NO/US), Kelly Harrison (HTS Structural Engineers, UK), Sebastian Irarrazaval (Sebastian Irarrazaval Arquitecto, CL), Susan Jones (atelierjones llc/University of Washington, US), Anssi Lassila (OOPEAA, FI), Andrea Leers (Leers Weinzapfel Associates, US), Tanya Luthi (Entuitive, US), Alan Organschi (Gray Organschi Architecture, US), John Patkau (Patkau Architects, CA), Thomas Robinson (LEVER Architecture, US), Jeremy Smith (Irving Smith Architects, NZ), Natalie Telewiak (Michael Green Architecture, US/CA), Andrew Waugh (Waugh Thistleton Architects, UK).
By gathering these prominent designers and focusing their expertise and experience, the symposium seeks to elevate the perception of mass timber and wood innovation in the design community and advance its use overall. The event is supported by The University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, as well as Walmart, the Miller Boskus Lack Architects Lecture Fund in Wood Design and Construction, Ray Dillon, Weyerhaeuser, Binderholz and Strutcturlam.
