EFFEKT has prequalified to redevelop a former industrial area in Moscow into a multifunctional urban environment capable to become a new catalyst for the development of adjacent areas and the city.
Located in the West part of Moscow, the 62 500 sqm project area is a former industrial territory which once served as construction factory producing panel partition elements. The project site surroundings are currently industrial territories occasionally including low-density residential, public, business and cultural functions.
The task is to define an efficient master plan layout for a sustainable mixed development which will include residential buildings, commercial infrastructure, art spaces, public zones, pedestrian and car traffic as well as park and landscape areas.
The competition is operated by LLC Citymakers for the client Glavstroy JSC and, other than EFFEKT, three other international teams will be submitting a bid: Architecten CIE (NL) ODA (US) and Simpson Haugh (UK).
