EFFEKT has prequalified for the masterplan development of the harbor-front of Silkeborg in East Jutland as part of the team consisting of Trafikplan as sub-consultant together with Colliers International, WTM Engineers International, Simon Prahm and Kasper Larsen as consultants.
The harbor-front of Silkeborg holds a great potential that has not been unlocked yet: today the waterfront is used largely for parking, and the city center is poorly connected to the water.
The goal is to strengthen the connections between the waterfront and the city center and to enhance the vision of “Silkeborg as the Outdoor Capital” by tying the city and nature together. The new masterplan will also be the framework to define the location of future development projects, such as the very anticipated new Jorn Museum.
EFFEKT is joined in the parallel competition by two other teams led by the renowned offices BIG and SLA.
The kickstart of the design process is planned for the end of November and winners are expected to be announced in March 2019.
