Prequalified to redesign the Royal Vegetable Gardens in Gråsten
EFFEKT prequalified with Jørgen Overbys Tegnestue and Hundsbæk & Henriksen to redesign the Royal Vegetable Gardens in Gråsten, DK.
The gardens currently provide the crops to the Gråsten Castle, the Danish royal family´s summer residence. The renovation aims to catalyze tourism to the area and make it an open and accessible attraction to the public. The 900-square meter extension will include a new orchard as well as an orangerie for events and the wintering of plants. The plan is also to convert the existing gardener´s building into a café and shop.
The winner of the competition will be announced in the spring and the Royal Garden is expected to open in the summer of 2020.
