Vejle Viewpoints
The City of Vejle is placed in a beautiful and diverse landscape of Vejle Fjord.
The two viewpoints are part of a larger network of pathways and series of viewpoints in the region. By emphasizing the natural outlooks with new architectural interventions, new attractions are created which gives more access for people to experience the different landscapes and the values they hold.
Nørreskoven
The proposal for Nørreskoven consists of a boardwalk through the forest. The boardwalk has different features which creates various experiences and spatial qualities, such as integrated benches for rest or an integrated trampoline for play and activity. The boardwalk leads to the main feature; a circular bridge on the edge of the forest, overlooking the Fjord of Vejle.
The bridge creates a dramatic spatial experience as the visitor starts in the dense forest and ends the experience with the forest behind them.
Hvidbjerg
The proposal for Hvidbjerg is a subtle intervention enhancing the landscape and the terrain. The unique landscape of Hvidbjerg is created 22 millions years ago, and consists of different textures, surfaces and geological strata.
The design proposal creates a path following the terrain with a minimal impact on the natural environment. The path has three viewing platforms overlooking the landscape and the Fjord.
The project has a high focus on making the viewpoints accessible for the many which means that all kinds of measures has been takes to meet the requirements of accessibility.
