Sjællandsk Muld village nominated for Building Awards 2024

We’re excited to share that the vision for Sjællandsk Muld — a co-housing and building community — has been nominated for Licitationen’s Building Awards thanks to our unique collaboration with co-housing developer Almenr, Hyllegaard Udvikling and Enemærke & Petersen.

Licitationen summarizes why this project stands out:
“Those who will actually live in the village have had the opportunity throughout the construction process to provide input and express their needs and wishes, thereby raising the bar for sustainability and quality in the project.

The project demonstrates how a coordinated collaborative effort involving everyone from residents to developers can produce high-quality buildings that embrace architectural aesthetics with features like eaves and construction using entirely breathable materials.

Sjællandsk Muld is self-sufficient in energy and heating, as the community has Denmark’s largest privately-owned ground-source heat pump system. Sjællandsk Muld has also incorporated recycled materials in the newly built homes and achieved a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) score of 5.6 within the Reduction Roadmap.”

35 families will move into Sjællandsk Muld in the area just outside Hvalsø at the end of 2024.
