We are delighted to unveil our landscape design for the Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich (IPZ) in the Dübendorf airfield, scheduled to begin in 2024.

As a new dynamic platform for research, development and innovation, IPZ will have an important focus on aerospace, robotics, mobility, and advanced manufacturing technologies. The center’s purpose is aimed at promoting knowledge exchange between Zurich’s renowned universities, research institutions and technical colleges, with the objective of supporting and accelerating the implementation of research results onto marketable products and services.

The landscape design for the center’s area aims to set the stage for an ecosystem dedicated to cutting-edge research and industrial innovation. The history of the airfield will be visible in the carpet of pavement tying the area together with signage and colours reminiscent of its past. A patchwork of diverse naturescapes, art installations and multisensory experiences will offer opportunities for interaction and inspiration through nature and play.

Collaboration and open exchange of ideas across disciplines and hierarchies will be key to the success of IPZ. In light of this, the landscape design serves as the social infrastructure of the area, introducing a human-scale environment that encourages collaboration and networking among the science and business sectors.
