The jury highlighted the following key reasons for honouring the treetop walkway in Hamaren Activity Park:

"Fyresdal municipality has spared no effort with this unique walkway that takes us to the top of the treetops, offering magnificent views of the surrounding beautiful nature. By thinking in terms of opportunities rather than constraints, the municipality has created a truly unique and magnificent attraction. The Treetop Walkway places universal design at its core while contributing to great urban development.”

In collaboration with EFFEKT and Faun Naturforvaltning, the municipality gathered insights necessary for creating an innovative and inclusive solution through user engagement and dialogue meetings with various organisations and stakeholders. The result is Norway's first treetop walkway – a one-kilometer-long route through pine trees that offers spectacular viewpoints and culminates at the top of Klokkarhamaren – a hill with an elevation of 338 metres.

DOGA's design and architecture award, presented every three years, honours projects that promote diversity, equality, and universal access through architecture and design. The award is given to companies that create innovative solutions contributing to a more equitable society. It highlights projects with significant vision, inclusive processes, and solutions based on user experience adding value to the end users.
