With a strong identity as a former fishing village and as the hometown of Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, the building and urban space design in our new masterplan for Humlebæk city centre is based on the site's existing qualities. It derives its architectural expression from the surrounding scale, the brick facades and granite pavements, and the bright coastal environment. Also, a biodiversity strategy has been developed to increase different habitats and various green urban spaces and as a result the biofactor has been doubled.
We look forward to presenting the masterplan at the citizens’ meeting this afternoon hosted by Fredensborg Kommune and show how Humlebæk city centre will become a new commercial and cultural meeting place. Where Humlebæk Center today appears introverted and run-down, the new Humlebæk city centre faces its surroundings and becomes an integral part of the city. It creates a range of new urban spaces in a human scale environment for residence, activity and spontaneous meetings. Humlebæk city centre adds an urban environment in the middle of the scenic garden and coastal town. A new interpretation of the classic market town.
This afternoon we are packing up this beautiful model of the masterplan and we will bring it with us to the citizens' meeting.
