Reduction Roadmap launches today
Reduction Roadmap launches today

To act within the Planet´s climate budget, in the next decade we must globally reduce our emission by 96% from today´s emission levels.

However, the building industry is a major contributor to climate change consuming roughly 40% of global energy use and emitting 39% of all greenhouse gasses globally.

How can we as an industry start building within the planet’s budget for carbon emissions and live up to the Paris Agreement?

Today we launch the Reduction Roadmap, an Earth-shot project which – for the first time ever - works to translate the Paris Agreement and the Planetary Boundary for Climate Change into industry-specific reduction targets for new Danish housing projects.

The Reduction Roadmap identifies where we are now, where we need to go, and the speed at which we must reduce our carbon emissions to reach Earth’s safe operating space. The result is a science-based transformation tool and a call to action for the Danish building sector, working to align all building industry actors with commitment to the Paris Agreement.

The project is initiated in a cross-sectoral partnership by @cebra_architecture, @effektarchitects and @moeconsultingengineers and has been developed in collaboration with a team of leading Danish scientists as well as Realdania and Villumfonden.
