Home.Earth competition
Part of battling affordability in cities is to constantly innovate in all the processes that are part of the residential development projects. Not only do have to lower embodied carbon in our buildings we also just as importantly have to lower to operational energy consumed by our building, make our builds more healthy, secure optimal daylight, create a framework for community and thriving residents etc. While solving these many challenges, we also have to design, produce and deliver new homes faster and more efficiently than ever before. That is why we have to look at manufactured and prefab housing. Not as an alternative to how architects and engineers design buildings today but as a supplement. The reality we are facing is, that we will be building approximately as many homes in the next 30 years as we have done in human history until today.
So looking at automation, and AI in both the manufacturing process and in the design process is simply a must. Building are becoming more and more complex and as a result the productivity in the building sector as a whole is decreasing. We there have to look at processes and technology from different industries to bridge this complex challenge of re-inventing the building industry.
At EFFEKT we try to work with any partners and/or client that are trying to address these challenges. That is why we are super happy to deliver our competition proposal for the first Home.Earth project in an open dialogue process with our highly talented colleagues at SWECO, COBE and Vandkunsten.
We have competed and collaborated on the development of a new building system and design language for the future Home.Earth developments. It has been a very fruitful collaboration that we are crossing our fingers will continue!
