The competition for the expansion of the Hamaren Activity Park is out for tender. EFFEKT has worked on the design of the expansion throughout the past months, delayed slightly by the ongoing pandemic.

Hamaren Activity Park is a centrally located and easily accessible park in the regional county of Telemark in Norway. It surrounds a kindergarden, schools and a senior care home. The park promotes physical activity within nature to improve health and well-being and has become a social gathering point for the entire population of the municipality.

A successful result of joint efforts between the local community, private and public partners, the Hamaran Activity Park has since its inception been focussed on inclusive design and providing access to nature for visitors no matter their physical challenges.

The upcoming expansion includes a new route through the forest to a previously inaccessible viewpoint on the top of a hill. The construction work is expected to begin in september pending the tender results.
