Hamaren Activity Park moves forward into construction

We are very happy to announce that our outdoor experience project for Hamaren Aktivitetspark in Fyresdal Kommune in Norway has received full funding and is now moving forward into construction in the coming Spring.

The project consists of a series of elevated wood boardwalks that lead visitors through the densely forested peninsula in Fyresvatn Lake.

"This addition will mean that the park moves up into a whole new league. The first step was built for recreation, as an outdoor area for our inhabitants. This new part will be an attraction. It will place Fyresdal on the map and we expect the visitor numbers to double or triple, at least." says Monica Sølyst, Project Lead at Faun Naturforvaltning who has been spearheading the development for Fyresdal Kommune.

"Today, the park has about 10.000 yearly visitors. The expansion of the attraction will mean a great deal for local businesses as more visitors will want to come visit." Sølyst continues.

Admission to the park will be free of charge. The boardwalk experience is designed for using the principles of Universal Design. Universal Design is the design and composition of an environment so that it can be accessed, understood and used to the greatest extent possible by all people regardless of their age, size, ability or disability.

Project financing comes from a long series of public and private partners.
