EFFEKT has just been announced as one of the teams selected for the new Lake Side development in the heart of Brussels! Part of the Tour & Taxis urban redevelopment project by Nextensa.

Following an open call for Project Designers with 46 responding candidates, and an interview round with ten invited architects, EFFEKT has been selected as one of five firms to design the 65,000m2 residential complex - Zone B/Lake Side - in the Tour and Taxis site in the northern part of downtown Brussels. EFFEKT will join a team including Binst Architects, Cobe, HUB Architecture & Urbanism, POLO Architects with Bureau Bouwtechniek filling the role as the executive architect.

The master plan was developed by MVRDV and they will continue on as urban planners on behalf of the developer. EFFEKT will be assigned a development in the range of 8,000-20,000m2 to develop and design a new housing concept. In the spirit of co-creation with the selected architects, the project will focus on future-proof construction and creating a high-quality, social residential neighborhood.
