Veterans home is nearing completion, and the users have already started using the newly renovated villa.
In the next stage, the remaining buildings of the newly built cluster will be completed: the “barn” and the “cabin” will be ready in the autumn.
The simple construction of the building is based on traditional construction techniques: the exposed wood structure makes the building easy to understand and relatable for the diverse users, while the wood used as the main material was chosen for its biophilic properties as it is proven to induce a relaxing feeling in the users.
Situated in a lush landscape shaped by the sloping glacial hills in the outskirt of Aarhus, Denmark, the new Veterans facility is designed to meet all the different needs and wishes, while creating spaces for both socialization and privacy.
