EFFEKT has been chosen as one of two teams for the competition for a new plaza at KulturØen (The Culture Island) in Middelfart, DK. KulturØen is a culture facility with library, cinema, tourist office, exhibition areas, conference rooms, café and restaurant. The new plaza, KulturØpladsen, will transform the harbour front into an active urban space with new connections between KulturØen, the harbour and the existing city. The project also deals with a new storm and flood protection of the harbour front.
