Yesterday, Thurøhus was awarded Frederiksberg Municipality's Architecture Award 2017 (Frederiksberg Kommunes Bygningspræmiering). The award has existed since 1902, and the winners are selected by a committee of judges, this year consisting of three members of The Danish Union of Architects (Arkitektforbundet), three members of Frederiksberg Municipal Council (Kommunalbestyrelsen) and the city architect of Frederiksberg. The jury highlights the "elegant and exemplary way the building adapts to the historical surroundings, while at the same time having its own logic and identity." The prize was awarded by the mayor of Frederiksberg, Jørgen Glenthøj, at a ceremony in Frederiksberg City Hall.
