Fuglebakkevej

Located in Frederiksberg on the border to Copenhagen Municipality, Fuglebakkevej 88 is a newly constructed residential building consisting of 33 apartments, a common room, and a new courtyard.

The facade is divided into smaller townhouses, each with its own facade expression in brick and different roof pitches that harmonize with each other. To create a more modern expression and a sense of a unified volume, the same color shade was chosen for the roof, facade, and joints.

The detailing is inspired by the typical richness of detail found in Frederiksberg. Examples of reinterpretations include the marking of the tall, recessed main doors in wood surrounded by green glazed bricks; the brick framing of the windows; French balconies; recessed and protruding balconies; projecting bricks and recessed joints.

Bay windows help create a connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The beautiful oak frames for sitting areas and elegant narrow aluminum frames that interact with the protruding bricks give the residence an extra quality and richness of detail.

Fuglebakkevej 88 was honored by Frederiksberg Municipality's Building Award in 2023. The jury justified their choice by stating that the building represents a beautiful, elegant, and unpretentious construction that not only enhances its immediate surroundings but also contributes positively to the entire area. The project was highlighted as exemplary because it demonstrates deep dedication and genuine commitment to the local community and Frederiksberg as a whole.
