Frederiksberg City Campus
INTRODUCTION
The Frederiksberg City Campus - Rolighedsvej Bycampus in Danish - is a masterplan designed to develop and strengthen the green campus environment of Frederiksberg, on the eponymous street Rolighedsvej. The program for the new campus comprises a New French International School (Lycée Français Prins Henrik), public sports facilities, student housing, apartments for young professionals and innovators, as well as a new public park.
OPEN CAMPUS STRUCTURE
The vision for the masterplan is to create the experience of a green, dense and varied campus settlement.
The vegetation is also generously enhanced along the roads at the edge of the area. The common spaces between the buildings open up the constructions of the campus and invite inside.
URBAN SPACES
The pocket park runs from the existing Green Path and creates a new green heart in both the campus settlement and Frederiksberg.
From Bülowsvej there are two paths that both create access to the area and connect it further west to the University campus. The paths change and adapt according to the buildings´ environment and create a 'slow' urban space with niches and resting areas. Here are located many of the social-gathering facilities.
The green edge creates an entry space on all roads and it strengthens the experience of a green district. It also creates a link between the neighborhood and the KVL's forecourt on Rolighedsvej.
