EN As humanity is facing its greatest challenge ever with the imminent threat of climate change, habitat loss and depletion of natural resources, we need to rethink the way we live together on this planet.
The Growtable showcases different ideas for living and building, for producing, consuming and revitalizing the ecosystems we are part of and depend upon.
It responds to urgent questions such as:
How can buildings work like ecosystems?
Can urban communities become self-sufficient?
Can architecture help people reconnect with nature?
IT L’umanità sta affrontando la sua sfida più grande. Considerando l’imminente pericolo del cambiamento climatico, la perdita degli habitat e l’impoverimento delle risorse naturali, dobbiamo ripensare al modo in cui viviamo su questo pianeta.
Il Growtable mette in mostra idee diverse per vivere, costruire, produrre, consumare e rivitalizzare gli ecosistemi dai quali dipendiamo e dei quali siamo parte.
Il tavolo risponde a quesiti urgenti come ad esempio:
Come possono gli edifici funzionare come ecosistemi?
È possible che le comunità urbane diventino autosufficienti?
L’architettura può aituare le persone a riconnettersi con la natura?

Seedling
The 1200 tree seedlings you see in this installation were pre-grown from seed at a forest nursery.

Le 1200 piantine che vedete in questa installazione sono state originariamente seminate in un vivaio forestale.
Growtable
The small trees will grow to the appropriate size for replanting through a hydroponic irrigation system controlled from Copenhagen.

Le piantine verrranno fatte crescere grazie a un sistema di irrigazione idroponica controllato da remote da Copenaghen fino a raggiungere la dimensione ideale al trapianto.
Forest
After the Biennale, the trees will be planted out as a part of an urban forestation project in Denmark, absorbing more than 1000 tons of CO2 over the next 50 years.
Bosco
A seguito della Biennale gli alberelli verranno piantati in Danimarca attraverso un progetto di rimboschimento urbano, andando ad assorbire più di 1000 tonnellate di CO2 nei prossimi 50 anni.
